Soil nails, which are also known as passive anchorage, are used in wall structures created to fix excavation surfaces or ensure chamfer stability. Soil nails are not prestressed. They are applied as temporary soil nails or permanent soil nails.
In this system, pre-blasting concrete cover is applied depending on ground conditions after each stage of drilling or passive anchorage drills are made irrespective of the ground conditions. A suitable size fitting is placed inside the drill and cement injection is filled in the drill around the fitting. Shotcrete is reinforced with mesh steel to prevent cracking. When the system is planned permanently, anticorrosive PVC case or epoxy covered fitting etc. measures are applied around the fitting.
